CNN/ORC recently did a national poll asking if they thought the federal government poses a threat to their rights. 56% said YES. 44% said NO. Breakdown by political affiliation, 37% of Democrats said YES. 63% of Independents said YES, and 70% of Republicans said YES.
The Indep. & Republican percentages don't surprise me, but 37% of Democrats? Democrats have the House, The Senate, The Presidency, and over a third of Democrats see their own party as a threat to their rights? This can't translate to anything positive for the Democrat Party, politically, in the November elections. Give these guys all three branches of the Federal Government, and 18 months later they are lamenting worse than an average Republican in a Primary booth.
This poll result is ultimately a good sign of a healthy political knowledge. People are slowly waking up in America, though we still have a long way to go. Pro-regulation/class warfare has been bred deep into right wing opinion, and theo-crats burroughed deep are beginning to ooze out into the open. All this needs to be addressed. Plus, one of two political parties in a two party political system is still touting socialism, albeit cloaked as progressivism, or Democracy. This is 20 years "after" the fall of the Berlin Wall. Not good.
But moving...in the right direction.

ReplyDeleteTen years ago, I thought "W" was going to govern like the first George (George Washington, the good one). Its fair to say, I was a little off in my estimations, you could say even, in a complete "coma".
